Dear HetPer readers:
I apologize for the lack of new material but due to the effects of a very harsh storm, we have had no power for days now. Alas, no power means no internet.
HetPer will be up and running with new posts and material once the power and cable services get fully restored. Thank you kindly for your comments and patience.

Ah, ok. Just wondered. How is one coping, by the way? Sans iPod? Sans Berry?
Really?
Hang in there.
Are you going to post on your latest reading material once you're up and running again? I need to read some new things but was out of 'valid' suggestions. I hope you get your services restored soon!

so, how does HetPer come to terms with no access to gadgets and information?
is HetPer traveling perchance and exploring green pastures of power, internets, and NY Times online?
:)
I was also wondering about the delay in email response. Nothing urgent. I just had a question about Philip Roth's new book. Sent an email the other day. Looking forward to your cable/internet getting restored. And your answer to my Roth question.
Why do I think you're not a candle person?
:-)
What's the mail inbox like?
Time for some analog internets, methinks. I don't even know what I'm talking about when I say that.
I know! We will power the world with hamster wheels!
Did you hear that August was the first sun-spot-free month in 100 years? Maybe all our power is going out.
It's so easy to get used to electricity and we forget that humans have only had it for a short time. I hope modernity gets restored fully out there as, I reckon, it's missed greatly.
Happy quick restoring of electricity!!
Every day when I go online one of the first things I check is to see if there are new posts. So these past couple days have definitely been harsh. no electricity.... no internet... GEHT GAR NICHT!Looking forward to new posts
