Almost Famous is another high-frequency film on my videolists on the iPod. I watch it on every trip.
Here are two of the best scenes of the film. If you are a hard-core music and literature lover, then this film is for you.
Both scenes feature the incomparable Philip Seymour Hoffman. Incidentally, the Times has a long feature on the actor today. Read it here.

Incidentally, the guy in Almost Famous is from SLC. And Hoffman is perhaps one of the best actors today. He is the making of Almost Famous.
'honest and unmerciful'... 'industry of cool' 'Iggy Pop! Amen!'
Some of my favorite Lester Bangs-isms.
Btw, what's your favorite Lost in Translation scene and why? And I'm happy you have WiFi wherever you go :)
"The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone where you're uncool."
GENIUS!
'industry of cool' so many ways to apply this.
Cameron Crowe's at his best here.
I also like the 'real world' references in this film.
Hoffman's a reason to still want to go to the movies. Have you caught Synechdoce, NY, yet or are you en route?
Industry of cool....
Am going to use this. A lot. I have reason to. Thank you!

I agree. If you like the text of music then you're bound to like this.
Did you see Elizabethtown? Yeah, Crowe struck gold with Almost Famous but completely missed the mark with Elizabethtown.
My favorite part is when the mother played by Frances McDormand uses the phrase 'walhalla of decadence' and starts quoting Goethe to the rock star.
Genius script!
Hm. My favorite Lost in Translation scene would be the "I'm stuck scene." See it here" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB1Vwo7-8GU
Saw Elizabethtown. No. Didn't approve.
Have not seen Synecdo., NY yet due to the schedule but will do so soon, hopefully.
I just saw Elizabethtown last night and completely didn't get it. Normally I like Kirsten Dunst, though.
My favorite part of Lost in Translation is when Bill Murray gets into the elevator and stands a head and a half taller than everyone else. That movie is very visually funny.
It's like everywhere you go these you're followed by 'industries of cool.'
Def. a good film!
