In this episode I talk about Dante's rarely discussed 'petty' character.
This was first inspired by a conversation I had with a close friend about Dante's choice of characters in his Inferno.

True. The Brunetto Latini example itself is telling of Dante knowing how to hold a grudge, I think.
I wish I had more conversations of that kind.
I'm revisiting Dante these days. Being the modern head that I am, I worry about the PR of the families whose members ended up in Dante's Inferno.
I dig the shirt's motive, btw? Is it Canto XV-inspired? ;)
Holding a grudge socially is one thing, ticking Dante off is another. You end up in one of the most popular narratives of our civilization. Hindsight is 20/20.
Brunetto Latini got the short end of the stick. 'Yes, Brunetto, you are a great teacher but Dante doesn't really like you all that well.'
Welcome to the politics of academia, medieval Florence style.
