Nerd A: Mozart's Requiem rocks my world.
Nerd B: Not Verdi's?
Nerd A: Yeah, Verdi's Requiem rocks my world too but in a very "I just saw a scary movie after having been jumpy all day," you know? It scares the bejeebees out of me already.
Nerd A: Mozart's Requiem rocks my world because it's so much more optimistic than Verdi's, you know?"
Nerd B: Optimistic? Hmm. Optimistic. On any other day you wouldn't catch me saying optimistic and Requiem with the same breath, but I see your point.
Nerd A: 'Confutatis maledictis
Flammis acribus addictis,
Voca me cum benedictis...'
Nerd B: It'd be funny if Jay Z or Busta Rhymes or some such musician used this in a 'song.' Confutati, yea, yea, yeah. Maledicti, say what, what, what?'
In sum, of course I had to include this here.

What was the 'context' of the nerd convo?
You had me at Busta Rhymes.
Still chuckling here.
Mozart's Requiem is intense but I think Verdi has him beat on intensity.
I don't know about you but I would have guessed Kanye. At least one of you guys could have made the connection there, enter weird sunglasses on Kanye, insert confutati, add synth., insert a Louis Vuitton reference, maledicti....
I'm having fun with this now. :)
Well, it's definitely a good way of contextualizing the meaning of 'nerd.' Two people comparing the optimism level of 'requiems' would do it, I suppose.
Ha.
I was going to say you had me at Latin rap, but it seems that line has been taken. Seriously, though, this rap must be recorded. Do it!
Totally with Sra. Gotta rap this now, BR!
This convo added new appreciated to the requiems on my part.
Ha. Good one.
Maybe I'll convince one of my musician friends to 'rap' it. Might even contribute the lyrics.
Language sure does funny things at times.
I find it sweetly funny thinking of Busta Rhymes singing about Courvoisier, Mozart, hip ladies from the 18th century, and yea, yeah, yeas.
homourous dialogue. :)
HA!!
