So the trend has been that people are living longer, but I don't quite get near the end of the chart why there is a drop off in the 60s-70s and then a sharp increase in 80+. I would expect all the columns to equalize, or for the drop off to continue in the 80s.

Talk about redistribution.
Wondered the same thing towards the end. Why the sharp increase in the 80+ category.
